Left behind International Staff Week: Diversity and Inclusion in Global Higher Education: Experience and Practice
Organized by the Office of International Programs and Graduate School of Business, participants from different institutions got an overview of Koç University and other participating universities. International staff week offered our participants the opportunity to network and share experiences and challenges with representatives of other institutions on diversity and inclusion of international students and staff.
While participants enjoyed week-long thought-provoking discussions and sessions with colleagues from all around the world, they also enjoyed cultural beauties of Istanbul and Turkey. As part of the program, participants presented their institutions to Koç University students during a day-long Study Abroad Fair.

Celebrating International Cultures at Koç
Earlier this year, ICO took international students and researchers to one of the best mountain resorts in the world. For the last couple of years, Iftar dinners have become an indispensable part of our international community activities as the International Community Office. Almost everyone honors the invitation to this grand day of coming together, eating with strangers or friends from any country, any religion, anywhere. Pakistani Students and ICO held this year's kite festival on April 30th with a large turn out of faculty, staff, students, and children of our community. Last but not least we are introducing a very well accomplished scholar at KU who earned his Ph.D. Degree here and now currently pursues a Post-Doc position with senior faculty and constitutes a great example for his fellow Pakistani and other graduate peers. Meet Dr. Muhammad Anwar Nazeer through his own words.

Complex and interrelated problems that our society faces in the 21st century require a new collective kind of leadership to collaborate across disciplines, departments, and organizations to develop creative and systemic solutions. This collective leadership capacity should be built through the work of young change-makers. Global Learning and Leadership Program (GLLP) and KUGlobalAid students are required to be part of a team and carry-out a hands-on prototype initiative that connects the personal, relational, and systemic dimensions of change. Each semester's project topics vary from reducing package waste across the campus to developing language learning programs for refugees. We are proud to share the latest news from KUGlobalAid students' Social Cohesion and Self Development Program 'Anlaş, Kaynaş, Beraber Paylaş' at Uzun Yusuf Middle School in Fatih, Istanbul, and GLLP Student Projects that were carried out during Spring 2019 MGMT 210 Changemaking in Action Course.
